Combat System

INFERNA features a dynamic action-based combat system that rewards skill, timing, and strategic positioning. Master these fundamentals to dominate both PvE and PvP encounters.

Combat Basics

Targeting

  • Click to Target: Click on an enemy to select it
  • Tab Targeting: Press Tab to cycle through nearby enemies
  • Auto-Target: Automatically targets nearest enemy when attacking
  • Target Lock: Hold Ctrl while targeting to maintain focus

Basic Attack

  • Left Click or Space Bar to execute basic attacks
  • Damage based on weapon and attributes (STR for physical, INT for magical)
  • Attack speed varies by weapon type
  • No cooldown or resource cost

Skills and Abilities

  • Hotkeys 1-0 to activate skills
  • Each skill has a cooldown period
  • Some skills consume mana/resources
  • Skills can be chained into combos for increased damage

Combat Mechanics

Combo System

Certain skills can be chained together for bonus effects:

Positioning

Position matters in INFERNA combat:

Frontal Attacks

  • Standard damage
  • Can be blocked by shields
  • Visible to enemy (PvP)

Side Attacks

  • +10% damage bonus
  • Harder to block

Back Attacks

  • +25% damage bonus
  • +20% critical chance
  • Essential for Assassins
  • Requires flanking or mobility skills

Damage Formulas

Physical Damage:

Base = (Weapon Attack + STR × 2 + DEX × 1.5)
Final = Base × Skill Multiplier × (1 - Enemy Defense Reduction)

Magical Damage:

Base = (Spell Power + INT × 2 + DEX × 1.5)
Final = Base × Skill Multiplier × (1 - Enemy Magic Defense Reduction)

Critical Hit:

Critical Damage = Final Damage × (1.5 + Critical Damage Bonus)

Status Effects

Crowd Control (CC)

Stun

  • Target cannot move or act
  • Duration: 1-3 seconds
  • Most powerful CC effect

Slow

  • Reduces movement speed by 30-70%
  • Duration: 3-8 seconds
  • Common debuff

Root

  • Prevents movement but allows attacks
  • Duration: 2-5 seconds
  • Useful for escaping

Silence

  • Prevents skill usage (basic attacks still work)
  • Duration: 2-4 seconds
  • Counter to casters

Fear

  • Target runs away uncontrollably
  • Duration: 2-4 seconds
  • PvP disruption tool

Buff Effects

Attack Boost

  • Increases damage by 10-30%
  • Duration: 30-120 seconds

Dodging

  • Evasion Stat: Based on DEX and equipment
  • Base Evasion: 5% for all characters

Damage Reduction

  • Armor: Reduces physical damage
  • Resistance: Reduces magical damage
  • Percentage Based: Diminishing returns after 50%

Resource Management

Health Points (HP)

  • Depleted by enemy damage
  • Restored by potions, healing skills, rest
  • Death occurs at 0 HP

Mana Points (MP)

  • Consumed by skills and abilities
  • Regenerates over time (1% per second base)
  • Increased regeneration while out of combat
  • Restored by mana potions

Stamina (Assassin Specific)

  • Used for mobility skills and critical strikes
  • Regenerates quickly (10% per second)
  • Maximum 100 points
