This update brings optional upscaling for better performance, selectable tab targeting modes, a big visual refresh for many mounts and some performance improvements.
---
Graphics:
- Added optional upscaling in the graphics settings. Choose an upscaling technology and quality to trade image quality against GPU performance. If your device doesn't support a method, the game falls back to Standard.
- On Windows the game now prefers Direct3D 12 and falls back to Direct3D 11 if your device can't use it. Some upscaling technologies are only available on Direct3D 12.
- The resolution list now also offers half of your display's resolution, so displays that don't report it (such as 5K monitors) can pick more sensible sizes.
---
Targeting:
- You can now choose how the target selection keys pick targets in the Gameplay settings. Pressing the key repeatedly cycles through the available targets.
- Character Facing: the previous behavior, and still the default.
- Nearest Ahead: the closest target in front of your character that is on screen.
- Screen Center: the visible target closest to the middle of your screen, no matter where your character faces.
- Nearest Visible: the closest target on screen, even behind your character.
- 360°: the closest target all around your character, even behind you or off screen.
- With the new modes, your selected target stays selected while you turn around.
---
Mounts:
- Many mounts have a new look, with improved armor and saddle materials on most of them.
- Cats, tigers, lions and wolves now have finer, softer-looking fur.
- Goldborn and Orange Tigers now look clearly different: Goldborn has dark fur, gold stripes and polished gold fittings, while Orange has white stripes and silver armor.
- The Azure horses have a deeper, more subdued blue coat, and the Purple Lizard now wears bronze armor.
- The Green and Gray Lizards have new, more natural scale colors.
- Fixed an odd extra "eye" on the Green Lizard's skin.
---
Quests:
- The letter for the last available main story quest no longer stays in your quest log after you complete it.
---
Characters:
- The character system has been updated to a newer version. If anything about your character's look or equipment seems off, please let us know.
- Characters now load in one step instead of two, so they appear faster on the character selection screen and when other players come into view.
- Fewer short freezes when many players or NPCs come into view at once, for example in busy cities.
---
Other:
- Restored a missing grass type in Jerro Highlands.
---
